How-to Guides

Here you will find clear and simple How-to Guide brochures and videos for your DBS device.

MRI Scan Setup

Your Neurologist will be able to provide you more information in regards to meeting MRI-conditional needs before going into your MRI scan. It is your responsibility before attending an MRI appointment is to ensure your remote control is fully charged.

To be able to have an MRI scan, your Neurologist will put your stimulator into MRI-mode which will de-activate your device. Your neurologist will ensure you have been given the appropriate medical care to manage the return of symptoms before performing an MRI scan.

On the day of your MRI-scan, you must bring your remote control and charging system. You will be put into MRI-mode where the stimulation will be idle. After the scan, you will be able to exit MRI-mode.

Travelling with your DBS System

Locate your nearest Neuro-centre when you go abroad. We have collated all the Neuro-centres across the globe. If you required assistant whilst abroad, you can simply call up a local neuro-centre for advice and guidance.

Airport Security: Passing through some metal detectors or security gates, like those at airports and department stores, may increase the stimulation or turn off your DBS system. Always have your ID card, your remote control and charging system when passing through airport security.

Before walking through a security gate, show your device identification card to security and request a hand search. If a security wand is used, ask the security personnel to avoid placing it over your device.
